1 - READ THE WORD
Avoid punishing ourselves
"Be strong, and let us be courageous for the sake of our people, and for the cities of our God; and may the Lord do what seems good to him.”
2 Samuel 10:12
2 - Reflect
Often when we make mistakes we tend to be too harsh on ourselves. We walk the path over and over again thinking about where we failed and we end up obsessing about the same thing. That attitude will not allow us to evolve and apologize for having made a mistake, because we are human and we are constantly learning. It is pointless to punish ourselves for something that was not or that did not go as we expected, but the important thing is to keep the value that lesson left us with and move on.
Concentrating on improving on our failures instead of constantly complaining or thinking about our mistakes, will give us a greater peace of mind in order to continue trying new things. Of course God will be there observing everything, and will give us mercy towards ourselves. That way we can avoid being too rigid in how we view what happened and we can think of ways to achieve what was not there the first time. Being close to the Lord and in a deep conversation with Him, we are able to share our fears and anxieties and trust that He will help us solve them. As our Heavenly Father, He will watch over our happiness and rejoicing, and will keep us from partaking in darkness or deception. By His hand we can get back on our feet and walk again.
