The antidote

"Rend your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing."

What happens when we begin to sabotage our own plans? When our priorities are altered we may tend to pay more attention to other things so that we will not have to deal with the truly important issues. Especially when we begin to or are going through some changes, the relationships that we established on the foundations of our previous way of bonding, begin to collapse and deteriorate. When this happens it is good to invite others to also reinvent themselves, but not everyone may be willing to do so. Not all of us manage to make structural modifications at the same time in our own lives.

In those times, God is our very own antidote against our resistance for advancement and improvement. He reminds us that our self-love is important in carrying out what we set out to do, but we may want to impede that change out of fear of what others may say or feel about it. The Lord will allow us to heal and allow us to appreciate each of our choices, and will be alongside us helping us choose the best paths. Often by not encouraging ourselves to go further and venture into the unknown, we become stuck in situations that are no longer good for us and we have develop a resistance to changing them.
