1 - READ THE WORD
“Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
2 - Reflect
I had embarked on a professional project that I had wanted to do for a long time. All my savings, my knowledge, and my dreams were involved in that new path. Many friends and some of my relatives did not agree or said it was very risky, but I decided to continue on anyway. I spent days and nights trying to brainstorm new strategies and get more clients. I almost did not sleep thinking about the processes I had to follow, but the bills started to add up and the happiness of working on my own and with my own business began to fade. Anger and frustration flared quickly: how had I, who had reviewed the plan over and over again, suddenly failed? The voices of those who were reserved about the idea were getting louder and I no longer had the strength to move forward.
Starting over is not always easy for someone who is hopeless or frustrated, and having the support of loved ones at that time is essential. Bringing ourselves to reflect on it in order to know what we can do better, or speaking with our Heavenly Father about our failures will free us from being hard on ourselves when faced with frustration. God will fill us with encouragement to start over, to go after our deepest longings without falling into sadness or anger.
