1 - READ THE WORD
"Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and of people."
2 - Reflect
When we feel undervalued it is very easy to begin having somewhat blurred limits. For example, when we spend more time than we should at work, working overtime and doing impossible tasks just to gain recognition. When this recognition does not come in the form of an incentive, we tend to feel confused and frustrated with the effort we have been making. Then we begin to evaluate how much of ourselves we have been putting into something that is not valued. Sometimes that happens with our relationships, when we notice that we are maybe giving the other person more time than they are willing to give back to us.
The truth is that we must remain focused on what is important: we will always be valued and treasured by the Lord, even if others can not gauge how relevant we are in a certain area. Our Heavenly Father will be our every step, and will bring us joy so we may be able to recognize our value. We should not be upset with others when we do not even know how to allot our energy and we give ourselves over without setting any limits. It is about establishing priorities and being able to pay attention to the care and protection of our time, so we do not just leave it in the hands of others.
