Vocation as Christians
“I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.”
2 - Reflect
We tend to deny some things that are in our faces because we can not let them go. We are convinced that the person will soon treat us differently, will view us differently, or they have not yet received their calling as a Christian. In trying not to be cruel or taking away from them, we may have ties with friends or family members who are unable to function at the moment. The truth is that maturing will have its challenges and successes, but we must remain alert to situations that do not favor us or relationships with siblings that may not be attuned to us.
Being able to get away from things that hurt us is also a way to preserve ourselves and be good Christians. It is not about not wanting the other person, or not being able to help, sometimes you simply have to prioritize your own well-being in order to bring our brethren back to God's path. Each one of us has different times for our encounter with the Lord: there are those who know Him from the first day and know how to make Him part of their hearts, others find Him while already on their way, and there are also those who come to our Heavenly Father to share in His prayers during uncertain times. We should never judge the ways that we as brethren have in order to forge our bond with God.
