“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

I had waited a long time for something to take my sorrows away, to lift me up off the ground, to give me a new breath. I walked aimlessly, without hope, waiting for everything to vanish. As if it had never happened, I wanted to wake up from a long sleep, from a pain so deep that it did not even allow me to leave my home. On some days of total darkness, a friend came to me and told me that I could return to the Church, that I would always be welcome there. I flatly refused and almost forced him from my home. Stubbornness and loneliness were already a habit of mine and I believed that nothing nor nobody could move me from that position.
When I did not know what else to do to get past that bad time, I began to meditate every night. Each moment became unique, talking with God the Father, in my own time, my own way. Trying to see beyond my fears, my suffering, I was preparing to speak to our Heavenly Father in a way that I had never done before. Sincerely, opening my heart, I let myself fall in Him, I let Him hold me in His hands, and little by little guided me towards my daily light.
